Dream Incubation & Scent

I met a guy the other day who said he works in pre-sleep content at MIT. What?!

They call it Targeted Dream Incubation. There's a few minutes as you're drifting off when your logic brain lets go and your mind gets much more associative, more open. MIT's research shows this window is valuable — cue it right, and you wake up with better memory and creative thinking.

My first reaction was — now you're going to 'target' my dreams as well?!

But then I thought about it, and I've been doing my own version of this for years with perfume. I love rolling on some perfume oil before bed, especially Moon, which already has such a nighttime vibe for me.

I thought that was just my own weird thing — then so many of you told me you do the same! Here's to scenting our dreams together.

PS: I was mid-writing when my friend Bunny sent me a photo of this Yoko Ono piece. Transmissions, apparently, travel both ways.
