When I started BODHA, I didn't have a business plan, but I did have a reason: I don't really like perfume. I find most of it too strong, too cloying, too similar. I feel like the odd one out at industry events. But get me to a raw materials supplier, and I'm in heaven.
Because what I actually love is the plants themselves. Their complex, sometimes weird smells. Their imperfections, and the way each harvest is a little different. Their incredible chemistry and deep history. Every natural ingredient has such a distinct personality — they feel like friends to me.
But more than anything, I think naturals hit differently. They resonate at a deeper level. We know them at a biological level because we are more similar to a blade of grass than anything we can create in a lab. Our bodies have always known these plants, and it's why they feel like home.
