Beauty as the measure of life

Sensory Living

Sometimes I'll come across something and feel my brain go into spa mode — everything relaxes into a full body yes.

I felt it this week, reading How It Feels to Be Alive: Encounters with Art and Ourselves by Megan O'Grady. In her chapter on Agnes Martin, she notes that Martin "believed that the measure of a life wasn't the usual markers of success, but rather our awareness of its beauty." Ooof.

I took a pic and added it to my 'Future Self Will Thank-You' folder.

A sensory truth, a small calibration. I hope you find one this week.
