Time In the Trees with Friends

‘We are a landscape of all we have seen’ - Isamu Noguchi

For something a little different this week, I’d like to share a very special place in the hope it inspires you to take some time to reconnect with nature, friends and yourself.

Like many of you we’ve been in desperate need of a little break, so last week we headed to a place we’ve always wanted to visit, Sea Ranch, California. Built in the 1960’s Sea Ranch is a planned community, a few hours north of San Fran with a vision to ‘live lightly on the land’. Spanning 10 miles (16km) of rugged Californian coast it’s made up of around 2,000 homes & shared amenities gently nestled into the landscape. The simple wooden architecture has become so famous it’s now known as the Sea Ranch Style, while the shared space murals by legendary Barbara Stauffacher Solomon have inspired generations.

The air is sweet with pines & ocean mist, the only pops of color come from bluejays & woodpeckers, and all you can hear is the sound of waves & wind in the trees.

Wishing you time to reconnect,
Em x
