Creation from Destruction

One of the most amazing human qualities is our ability to foster creation from destruction. Out of the chaos of 2020 we've noticed a few people bringing beauty, connection & even a little humor to our days. If you haven't seen these already, we hope you enjoy.

Window Swaps - we can't travel, so what do you do when you're desperate for a different view? Husband & wife designers Sonali & Vaishnav came up with Window Swaps, a simple way to 'open a new window somewhere in the world'. One click and you can spend 15 minutes taking in the scenery & sounds from someone else's home from Italy to New Zealand. And, if you like, you can even upload your own view for others to enjoy.

2020 : An Isolation Odyssey - if you're feeling that weird sense of time distortion this year you might enjoy artist Lydia Cambron's take on 'the ultimate essay on time', Kubrick's 2001 : A Space Odyssey. Shot entirely in her apartment during NYC's lock-down, her frame-by-frame homage to the final sequence of the film cleverly reflects on the weridness we're all going through.

David Lynch's Weather Report - the ritual of checking the weather has never been as good as during covid. Since the pandemic began David Lynch has been doing a morning weather report from his home studio, complete with descriptions of puffy clouds and things he's pondering that day. Even if you don't live in L.A. there's something comforting about David Lynch telling you to 'have a great day'.
