Why I Do What I Do

I've been back in the studio this week, working on new scents, and it's got me thinking about why I do what I do. Over the years, I've been advised again & again to contract out our scent development - it's fast, efficient, and how most fragrance brands work. On the other hand, how I do things is long, slow & very personal. I want to know the suppliers of each ingredient; I want to ensure the perfume has a therapeutic effect, and, most of all, I want to know exactly what's going into our formulas. Perfuming is a little like being a chef & as one of my perfume heroes, Christophe Laudamiel, said, 'Would you eat at a restaurant with no chef in the kitchen?'

I feel so lucky to do this work & I hope you can feel a little of that love every time you use your BODHA.

Best scented wishes,
Emily
