A Come Back to Yourself Retreat

Have you ever been somewhere that genuinely helped you come back to yourself? Over the years, we’ve been thinking about the kind of experiences that create this feeling, and last month we went to a place that encapsulated the whole idea for us. Casa Monte, in a remote part of Puerto Escondido, is like being in a living sculpture. It engages all of your senses with textural shifts from rough concrete to smooth wood to soft sand. You can smell & hear the rhythm of the ocean day & night. And there are no visible signs of technology. Designed by Mexican artist Carlos Matos of Tezontle, it’s also down the road from the incredible art residency Casa Wabi which you can tour.

We’d love to start sharing more of these sensory places of connection & calm. If you have some favorites we’d love to hear them!
